What Makes Senior Moving Different?

Senior moving is different because it’s about more than just transporting belongings – it’s about care, comfort, and safety.

Seniors often face mobility challenges, have fragile or sentimental items, and experience emotional stress when leaving a longtime home. This requires specialized handling, extra patience, and careful coordination with families.

Professional senior moving includes gentle packing of cherished belongings, coordination with assisted living facilities, and downsizing assistance. Setup at the new location is also included.

Since 2006, our licensed and insured crews have specialized in senior relocations. We handle everything with patience and care – from packing and labeling to transportation and room-by-room setup. Call us today for assistance or reserve your move online.

What is Included?

Patient, respectful moving crews – Our team treats you and your belongings with care, patience, and professionalism every step of the way.

Careful packing of fragile memories – Delicate items, keepsakes, and important documents are carefully packed to ensure they arrive safely.

Furniture disassembly and reassembly – Beds, tables, and sectionals are taken apart and reassembled using factory hardware for a seamless move.

Complete room setup at new residence – We place furniture and boxes exactly where you want them and make sure every room is move-in ready.

Flexible scheduling for health needs – We work around your routine and health requirements to make your move as comfortable as possible.

What is the Cost of Senior Moving Services?

Crew & Time Guideline

  • Studio or 1-bed – 2–3 movers · 3–5 hours

  • 2-bed – 3–4 movers · 4–8 hours

  • 3-bed – 3–4 movers · 6–9 hours

About 85 percent of local moves fall within these ranges, but not all. Packing service will require more time.

What can add time: Long carries, multiple flights, complex elevators, tight turns, extra disassembly, packing on move day, and multi-stop routes.

What People are Saying

Isa F. | Seattle Senior Moving

Wonderful experience with the team. We called for a last minute move and they were able to fit us into the schedule no problem. The team was on time, efficient, and extremely creative in getting oddly shaped things into our home. This is my second move with them and I would recommend!

Brittany P. | Seattle Senior Moving

This was my first time moving to a place of my own and the company did an amazing job packing my items and keeping them in great condition. They earned more than 5 stars for climbing up the three flights of stairs at least 10 or more times. I would recommend Man With A Truck Seattle to any first-time movers, experienced movers, etc.

FAQ – Senior Moving Service

How much does senior moving in Seattle typically cost?

Seattle senior moving costs vary based on needs. Studio/1-bedroom downsizing moves range from $600-1,200. Full-house to retirement community typically $1,500-3,500. We offer senior discounts of 10-15% and can work with fixed budgets. Many find our full-service packing worth the investment to reduce stress. Some long-term care insurance covers moving costs.

How do you help with downsizing during senior moving?

Downsizing is often the hardest part of senior moving in Seattle. We provide patient sorting assistance, help identify items for family/donation/disposal, coordinate with estate sale companies, arrange donation pickups, handle recycling and disposal, and can work over multiple days. Our crews understand the emotional difficulty of letting go and never rush decisions.

Can you coordinate with Seattle retirement communities?

Absolutely! We regularly work with Seattle senior moving into facilities like Horizon House, Era Living, and Aegis communities. We understand move-in requirements, coordinate with facility staff, follow community protocols, handle elevator reservations, and ensure rooms are set up before arrival. Many communities recommend our services.

Do you help seniors who are moving in with family?

Yes, many Seattle senior moving situations involve multigenerational consolidation. We help combine households thoughtfully, create accessible living spaces, move items to multiple family members, set up in-law suites or ADUs, and coordinate with family schedules. We understand the delicate dynamics involved.
